Supersulfides: A Promising Therapeutic Approach for Autoinflammatory Diseases

open access: yesMicrobiology and Immunology, Volume 69, Issue 4, Page 191-202, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Supersulfides are molecular species characterized by catenated sulfur moieties, including low‐molecular‐weight and protein‐bound supersulfides. Emerging evidence suggests that these molecules, abundantly present in diverse organisms, play essential roles far beyond their chemical properties, such as functions in energy metabolism, protein ...

Primary versus secondary recurrent pregnancy losses: Clinical findings and live birth rate after comprehensive work‐up and personalized management

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 104, Issue 4, Page 697-706, April 2025.
Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) is a heterogeneous multifactorial syndrome. A customized management can lead to a good pregnancy outcome in more than a half of cases. Age <40 and AMH >1 ng/mL are the major positive predictors of live birth rate in RPL women.

From fat storage to immune hubs: the emerging role of adipocytes in coordinating the immune response to infection

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 8, Page 1868-1883, April 2025.
Traditionally, adipocytes have been viewed as energy storage units, which upregulate inflammatory factors in response to obesity. However, emerging evidence demonstrates that adipocytes are highly responsive to systemic infection, and upregulate cytokines and antimicrobial compounds in response.
