Roundtrip matrix method for calculating the leaky resonant modes of open nanophotonic structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present a numerical method for calculating quasi-normal modes of open nanophotonic structures. The method is based on scattering matrices and a unity eigenvalue of the roundtrip matrix of an internal cavity, and we develop it in detail with ...

Measurement of the linear thermo-optical coefficient of Ga$_{0.51}$In$_{0.49}$P using photonic crystal nanocavities

open access: yes, 2017
Ga$_{0.51}$In$_{0.49}$P is a promising candidate for thermally tunable nanophotonic devices due to its low thermal conductivity. In this work we study its thermo-optical response. We obtain the linear thermo-optical coefficient $dn/dT=2.0\pm0.3\cdot 10^{-

Scalable Upcycling of Spent Lithium‐Ion Battery Anodic Graphite to Electronic‐Grade Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphite anodes from spent lithium‐ion batteries are upcycled into electronic‐grade graphene nanoplatelets for highly conductive screen printing inks (> 104 S m−1). Screen‐printed micro‐supercapacitors confirm the utility of the upcycled graphene (1.78 mF/cm2 capacitance for > 10 000 cycles). Life cycle assessment and techno‐economic analysis highlight

Selective Catalytic Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohol to Benzaldehyde With Alkyl Allyl Carbonates and Pd(II) Allyl‐Amidinate

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
A Pd(II) allyl‐amidinate complex catalyzes the selective oxidation of benzyl alcohols to aldehydes using allyl alkyl carbonates as tailored, mild oxidants. The carbonate reagent acts both as oxidant and in situ base, enabling chemoselective conversion and minimizing overoxidation under mild conditions.

Constructing a partially transparent computational boundary for UPPE using leaky modes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper we introduce a method for creating a transparent computational boundary for the simulation of unidirectional propagation of optical beams and pulses using leaky modes. The key element of the method is the introduction of an artificial-index

Drivkraft og dynamik i de trøstende samspil i børnehaven

open access: yesNordisk Barnehageforskning

A carbohydrate approach for the formal total synthesis of (−)-aspergillide C

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
An enantioselective formal total synthesis of aspergillide C is accomplished using commercially available tri-O-acetyl-D-galactal employing a Ferrier-type C-glycosylation, utilizing a Trost hydrosilylation and protodesilylation as key reactions.

The politics of impact: How political ideology shapes perceptions of the environmental impact of individual actions

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Although consumers who engage in the same sustainable behaviors objectively have the same environmental impact, this research finds that people's perceptions of that impact are subjective and systematically shaped by political ideology. Seven studies demonstrate that conservatives tend to perceive their sustainable actions to have less of a ...

Congenital aniridia: European COST action ANIRIDIA‐NET guidelines for diagnosis, management and care

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Congenital aniridia is a rare ocular disorder affecting the majority of eye structures and can be associated with systemic manifestations. The main visible phenotypic characteristic is the partial or complete absence of the iris; however, foveal hypoplasia is a more frequent and reliable clinical sign. Other ocular comorbidities are associated

Not that different after all: Pro‐environmental social norms predict pro‐environmental behaviour (also) among those believing in conspiracy theories

open access: yesBritish Journal of Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Social norms are powerful predictors of pro‐environmental behaviour. At the same time, conspiracy beliefs are prevalent that can reduce individuals' efforts to act pro‐environmentally and might impede the influence of social norms. Across three cross‐sectional studies in three countries (Germany, UK, US; total N = 1037), we investigated the ...
