Transmenopausal Changes in Trabecular Bone Quality [PDF]
ABSTRACT Bone strength depends on its amount and quality. Bone quality includes its structural and material properties. Bone material properties are dependent on bone turnover rates. Remodeling rates are significantly increased immediately after menopause.

Trabecular bone score in healthy ageing [PDF]
The main aim of this work was to report on trabecular bone score (TBS) by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) of healthy Italian subjects to be used as a reference standard for future study in clinical and research settings. The secondary aim was to investigate the link between TBS and conventional parameters of bone and body composition by DXA.250 ...

Objective Foot orthoses are thought to improve pain by potentially modifying internal mechanical forces. To test this, we explored whether foot orthoses can modify patterns of bone marrow lesions (BMLs) in people with midfoot pain. Methods Forty‐two people were recruited with midfoot pain, and magnetic resonance imaging–confirmed midfoot BMLs ...

Aging-associated microstructural deterioration of vertebra in zebrafish
Zebrafish, a small teleost fish, is currently emerging as an animal model of local and systemic aging. In this study, we assessed age-related degenerative changes in the vertebral bone of zebrafish (3–12 month-post-fertilisation [mpf]) using micro-CT ...
