Bone quality, as measured by trabecular bone score (TBS), in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism [PDF]
ObjectiveIn primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT), vertebral fractures (VFx) occur regardless of bone mineral density (BMD) and may depend on decreased bone quality. Trabecular bone score (TBS) is a texture measurement acquired during a spinal dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA).

Objective Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and antiretroviral therapy (ART) have been associated with reduced bone mineral density (BMD) in persons with HIV (PWH). BMD provides information only about bone mineral quantity.

ABSTRACT Periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease initiated and sustained by plaque microorganisms and host immune response, remains an intractable oral disease and a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. Traditional mechanical debridement and adjunctive antibiotic or antiseptic therapy often shows limited efficacy due to the complex anatomical ...

Bone mineral density and trabecular bone score in Chinese subjects with sarcopenia [PDF]
As the general population is aging worldwide, the incidence of sarcopenia and osteoporosis is also rapidly increasing. Studies have found the link between sarcopenia and osteoporosis, but the relationship between sarcopenia and osteoporosis, especially bone microarchitecture, remains unclear. To investigate the relationship between components of ...

Senolytic Therapy as a Preventive Strategy for Spine Degeneration and Pain
Cellular senescence promotes inflammation, tissue degeneration, and chronic back pain. In sparc‐null mice, early oral administration of the senolytic agents o‐vanillin and RG‐7112 reduced senescent cell burden and pro‐inflammatory SASP signaling across intervertebral discs, endplates, vertebral bone, and spinal cord.

Bone mineral density and Trabecular Bone Score in children and adolescents
Background. Decreased bone mineral density (BMD) and bone tissue (BT) quality are often the causes of osteoporosis, which is common not only in adults but also in children.

Amuc_1473 Links Gut Microbes to Skeletal Homeostasis and Counteracts Multifactorial Osteoporosis
Amuc_1473, a previously uncharacterized protein enriched in Akkermansia muciniphila‐derived extracellular vesicles, is identified as a gut–bone messenger that promotes osteogenesis and inhibits osteoclastogenesis by engaging transcriptional and translational regulators in bone cells.

Trabecular Bone Score and Bone Mineral Density in Men with Vertebral Fractures
Traditionally bone mineral density (BMD) has been considered a major determinant of bone strength. However, it is shown that the bone strength and fracture risk depend on several parameters: macrogeometry of cortical bone, BMD, trabecular bone ...

Background Subchondral bone plays an important role in the pathogenesis of radiographic osteoarthritis (OA). However, the bony changes that occur in hand OA (HOA) are much less understood. This study aimed to describe the association between radiographic

An adhesive hydrogel depot with polyphenol‐armored nanogenes is developed for treating aged osteoarthritis. This system maintains miR‐140 bioactivity, prolongs its intra‐articular retention, and enhances transfection into chondrocytes, leading to the downregulation of senescence‐associated pathways.
