Pathology of the trabecular meshwork
Medical Electron Microscopy, 1994We demonstrated pathological changes in the trabecular meshwork in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and various types of secondary open-angle glaucoma eyes. In POAG eyes, a sheath material of the elastic-like fiber was found to be significantly greater in the juxtacanalicular tissue.

Innervation of trabecular meshwork.
Japanese journal of ophthalmology, 1987The innervation of the trabecular meshwork of the anterior chamber angle in monkey eyes was studied by transmission and scanning electron microscopy. According to the transmission electron microscopic examination, the nerve terminals in the trabecular meshwork mostly contained dense core vesicles after treatment with 5-hydroxydopamine and thus were ...

Does Pigmentation Affect the Trabecular Meshwork?
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1989Pigment has been associated with glaucoma in pigment dispersion syndrome and in intraocular lens-associated pigment dispersion. Human eyes with segmental pigmentation of the trabecular meshwork may provide a controlled model to study the effects of pigment on the meshwork.

[Ablation of the trabecular meshwork].
Klinische Monatsblatter fur Augenheilkunde, 1991In an experimental investigation we examined the possibility to create an open pathway between the anterior chamber and Schlemm's canal by excimer laser ablation of the trabecualr meshwork (AT) in enucleated eyes. A quartzfiber was directed through the anterior chamber to the opposite chamber angle.

Morphology of the Trabecular Meshwork
1999It is well estabilished that in primate eyes most of the resistance to aqueous humor outflow needed for maintenance of a pressure gradient between intraocular pressure of ~ 15 mm Hg and the episcleral venous pressure of ~ 10 mm Hg is located within the trabecular meshwork.

Measurements of Phagocytosis in Trabecular Meshwork Cells
The restriction in the movement of aqueous humor through the trabecular meshwork is known to play an important role in the pathogenesis of glaucomas. Among the functions of the trabecular meshwork that help to prevent this restriction and maintain the movement of aqueous humor is phagocytosis.Jennifer A, Faralli +3 more
