Deep Learning Network‐Tailored Microenvironment Matching of 4D Bioprinting Bioactive Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DLN dataset was built to analyze MABS composition versus in vitro/in vivo osteogenesis and angiogenesis. An MLP neural network, taking BG morphological parameters as input, extracts bioactive features from these datasets. A rabbit tibial defect model then validates 4D‐printed MABS for adaptability and bone regeneration in critical defects.

Review Of Applied Mathematical Models For Describing The Behaviour Of Aqueous Humor In Eye Structures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2015
In the paper, currently used methods for modeling the flow of the aqueous humor through eye structures are presented. Then a computational model based on rheological models of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids is proposed. The proposed model may be used

An unusual titanosaur axis from the Upper Cretaceous of Brazil and its significance for sauropod anatomy and systematics

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The Upper Cretaceous São José do Rio Preto Formation (Bauru Group, southeastern Brazil) has yielded a fragmentary but taxonomically diverse record of titanosaur sauropods, although elements from cervical series remain scarce. Here, we describe a nearly complete sauropod axis from the Vila Ventura Paleontological Area, representing an uncommon ...

Comparative Phospholipid Profiles of Control and Glaucomatous Human Trabecular Meshwork

open access: yes, 2013
We present identification, comparison of differences between control and glaucomatous eyes, and analyses of unique phospholipids (phosphatidylcholines, phosphatidylserines, phosphatidylethanolamines, and phosphatidylinositols) in the trabecular meshwork ...

In vitro 3D bioprinting trabecular meshwork models using organic hydrogels

open access: yes, 2022
In this study, biocompatible hydrogels and 3D bioprinting were brought together to explore the construction of structurally representative models of the trabecular meshwork (TM) of the eye.

Light Sheet Fluorescence Microscopy of the Trabecular Meshwork in Rodent Eyes

open access: yes, 2020
Trabecular meshwork of the eye in Wistar rats was imaged using high-resolution, noncontact mode Bessel beam light sheet fluorescence microscopy. Distinct features of the trabecular meshwork can be observed using this technique.Agency for Science ...

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Relationships between human tibia diaphysis shape and experimental injury outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Interpretation is central to skeletal trauma analysis; however, the influence of intrinsic skeletal variation, such as long bone shape, on injury is not fully understood. While previous studies have emphasized extrinsic variables such as loading rate, direction, and number of impacts, this study investigates whether diaphyseal shape variation ...

Childhood ocular safety after postnatal exposure to topical dexamethasone during retinopathy of prematurity screening

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Dexamethasone eye drops are being introduced off‐label to prevent progression of severe retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). We evaluated ophthalmologic outcomes in early childhood after postnatal topical dexamethasone exposure in pre‐term infants at a standardized follow‐up examination.
