Microcatheter-assisted trabeculotomy versus rigid probe trabeculotomy in childhood glaucoma

British Journal of Ophthalmology, 2015
To compare microcatheter-assisted trabeculotomy with standard rigid probe trabeculotomy for the treatment of childhood glaucoma. The early postoperative (12 months) results of microcatheter-assisted trabeculotomy (group 1) performed by single surgeon were retrospectively compared with those of rigid probe trabeculotomy (group 2) performed by the same ...

TRABECULOTOMY AB EXTERNO

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1973
During recent years microsurgery has opened up new possibilities for the surgical treatment of glaucoma by operative procedures applied direct to Schlemm's canal. The present report deals with the experience of trabeculotomy ab externo on 26 eyes affected with various forms of glaucoma. This procedure appears to be less traumatizing than the conventional

Ab externo 240-degree trabeculotomy versus trabeculotomy–trabeculectomy in primary congenital glaucoma

International Ophthalmology, 2020
This prospective study aimed to compare the surgical outcomes of ab externo 240-degree trabeculotomy and trabeculotomy-trabeculectomy in managing primary congenital glaucoma (PCG).The study included 30 eyes of 30 patients aged less than 3 years who were diagnosed with PCG and was conducted in Menofia University Hospital between November 2018 and ...

Theoretical approach to laser trabeculotomy

Medical Physics, 1978
Theoretical aspects of laser characteristics as well as the physics parameters involved in laser trabeculotomy in open‐angle glaucoma are put forward. Outflow hydrodynamics and perforation mechanism as well as the required optical matching system are evaluated in detail.

Improved Nonpenetrating Trabeculectomy With Trabeculotomy

Journal of Glaucoma, 2001
To examine surgical effects and complications of improved nonpenetrating trabeculectomy with trabeculotomy in glaucoma patients.Glaucoma patients in two medical institutions underwent nonpenetrating trabeculectomy with sinusotomy with or without trabeculotomy, and the results were compared retrospectively in the two groups by evaluation of final ...

External Trabeculotomy for Developmental Glaucoma

Ophthalmology, 1980
We have used external trabeculotomy in the treatment of developmental glaucoma for the past ten years. There were 57 operations involving 47 eyes in 29 individuals. The procedure was more successful in congenital than in adolescent glaucoma, and although late failure does occur with the latter, it appears to be uncommon with the former.

Pathologic Investigation Failure of Trabeculotomy

Journal of Glaucoma, 2015
To investigate the reason for failure of trabeculotomy using trabeculectomy (TLE) specimens involving the area of previous trabeculotomy.Thirteen TLE specimens from 13 patients with open-angle glaucoma were processed for transmission electron microscopy and light microscopy, involving immunohistochemical staining of thrombomodulin, D2-40 (podoplanin ...

Complications and Results after Trabeculotomy

2015
This paper reports the complications and results after 80 trabeculotomies for open angle glaucoma, which were performed between 1971 and 1975 at the University Eye Clinic in Marburg. The longest follow-up period was between 1.5 and 2.0 years. Intraoperative complications included anterior chamber bleeding, synechias, and mild cataracts.

Randomized Trial on Illuminated-Microcatheter Circumferential Trabeculotomy Versus Conventional Trabeculotomy in Congenital Glaucoma

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2017
To compare 1-year outcomes of illuminated microcatheter-assisted circumferential trabeculotomy (IMCT) vs conventional partial trabeculotomy (CPT) for primary congenital glaucoma (PCG).Randomized clinical trial.Forty eyes of 31 patients with unilateral or bilateral primary congenital glaucoma aged less than 2 years were randomized to undergo IMCT (20 ...

[Neodymium:YAG trabeculotomy].

Ceska a slovenska oftalmologie : casopis Ceske oftalmologicke spolecnosti a Slovenske oftalmologicke spolecnosti, 1995
The author presents the results of ND: YAG trabeculotomy on 10 eyes with open-angle glaucoma. The surgery has been carried out as last treatment before trabeculectomy. The mean intraocular pressure (IOP) before laser surgery was 35 +/- 5.2 mm Hg. The IOP decrease below 22.0 mm Hg has been achieved in 50% of eyes.
