European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Influence of trace silicon addition on microstructure and properties of Ti6Al4V fabricated by wire arc additive manufacturing

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
To provide a pathway to improve the tensile properties of wire arc additive manufactured Ti6Al4V, the microstructures and properties of Ti6Al4V-0.1Si produced by the wire arc additive manufacturing were investigated in this study.

The additivity of traces in stable $\infty$-categories

open access: yes, 2021
We prove a version of J.P. May's theorem on the additivity of traces, in symmetric monoidal stable $\infty$-categories. Our proof proceeds via a categorification, namely we use the additivity of topological Hochschild homology as an invariant of stable $\infty$-categories and construct a morphism of spectra $\mathrm{THH}(\mathbf C)\to \mathrm{End ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Enhancing the Strength and Toughness of A356.2-0.15Fe Aluminum Alloy by Trace Mn and Mg Co-Addition

open access: yesMetals, 2023
In the present work, microalloying is put forward to improve the microstructure and tensile properties of A356.2-0.15Fe (wt.%) alloy by the co-addition of trace Mn and Mg. A suitable Mn/Fe mass ratio of 0.5 is obtained for alloys with 0.15Fe.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Batch and Continuous Mesophilic Anaerobic Digestion of Food Waste: Effect of Trace Elements Supplementation

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2013
Trace metals are essential for the enzyme cofactors involved in the biochemistry of methane formation and are needed in a balanced anaerobic digestion process.

Trace Element Supplementation and Enzyme Addition to Enhance Biogas Production by Anaerobic Digestion of Chicken Litter

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Anaerobic digestion (AD) of chicken litter (CL) is a viable alternative to disposal. However, methane yields from this primarily organic waste are quite low when mono-digested.
