Optimal symmetric Tardos traitor tracing schemes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
For the Tardos traitor tracing scheme, we show that by combining the symbol-symmetric accusation function of Skoric et al. with the improved analysis of Blayer and Tassa we get further improvements.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Interactive Visualization of the Printed Circuits Tracing Algorithms for Educational Purposes

open access: yesЦифровая трансформация, 2023
A software module that allows interactive demonstration of maze routing algorithms for tracing printed conductors, which, during their operation, use a grid representation of a discrete working space of a printed circuit board has been developed.

Tracing HI Beyond the Local Universe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The SKA and its pathfinders will enable studies of HI emission at higher redshifts than ever before. In moving beyond the local Universe, this will require the use of cosmologically appropriate formulae that have traditionally been simplified to their ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A Framework for Detecting System Performance Anomalies Using Tracing Data Analysis

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
Advances in technology and computing power have led to the emergence of complex and large-scale software architectures in recent years. However, they are prone to performance anomalies due to various reasons, including software bugs, hardware failures ...

Trace conditioning in insects—keep the trace! [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2013
Trace conditioning is a form of associative learning that can be induced by presenting a conditioned stimulus (CS) and an unconditioned stimulus (US) following each other, but separated by a temporal gap. This gap distinguishes trace conditioning from classical delay conditioning, where the CS and US overlap.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

A Review on the Possibilities and Challenges of Today’s Soil and Soil Surface Assessment Techniques in the Context of Process-Based Soil Erosion Models

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
To investigate relevant processes as well as to predict the possible impact of soil erosion, many soil erosion modelling tools have been developed. The most productive development of process-based models took place at the end of the 20th century.

Using schema transformation pathways for data lineage tracing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
With the increasing amount and diversity of information available on the Internet, there has been a huge growth in information systems that need to integrate data from distributed, heterogeneous data sources. Tracing the lineage of the integrated data is
