More Track and Field

The Physics Teacher, 2004
A recent item in Physics Challenges for Teachers and Students1 presented a problem of a metal rod (mass M) sliding on frictionless, parallel conducting rails (of negligible resistance and separated by a distance L) in the presence of a downwardly directed uniform external magnetic field B. A resistor R bridges the rails, thereby completing the circuit.

Management of Track and Field Injuries: Rehabilitation and Return to Sport After Injury in Track and Field Athletes

2021
The moment of readiness to return to sport (RTS) after injury is the main question during sports injury rehabilitation. In this chapter, we discuss general principles in injury rehabilitation and RTS in track and field. To understand the full scope of an injury, it is essential to analyze etiological injury risk factors, training load, and biomechanics.

Injuries in Interscholastic Track and Field

The Physician and Sportsmedicine, 1981
In brief: Track and field is popular with both sexes. In this two-year study of track-and-field injuries in four high schools, 308 boys and 208 girls participated, and they sustained 101 and 73 injuries, respectively. Seventy-five percent of the injuries occurred during practice.

From Track and field to e-Track and field

2012
While searching for the improved communication between and with students, as well as for the improved lecture quality of Track and field course, the pilot project designed to implement sports contents into the e-learning system, Merlin, was designed with the support of e- learning Center SRCE employees.

Longitudinal trends in track and field performances

Experimental Aging Research, 1984
Previous investigation of aging effects in track and field performances has relied on cross-sectional data. In the present study, the shapes were examined of longitudinal performances on age curves from 81 older, elite, male athletes. The mean duration of the longitudinal span was 5.3 years, and performances were obtained from six events.

Real-World Field Snail Detection and Tracking

2018 15th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision (ICARCV), 2018
With the development of computer vision and machine learning, smart farming is becoming more popular and more important in agricultural industries. In this paper, we design and develop a snail detection and tracking system for real-world application. In this approach, deep learning is adopted to detect snails in the real-world.
