Influence of Slab Length on behavior of Floating Slab Track by Rail-slab-isolator Longitudinal Interaction

open access: yesInternational Journal of Railway, 2012
Many different types of floating slab track have been developed and installed around the world to reduce vibrations and noise originating in the surrounding environment. The main objective of this study is to examine the influence of slab length on behavior of floating slab track based on rail-slab-isolator interaction.

Engineering Na‐Rich P2‐Type Layered Oxides Through Li/Ti Dual Doping for Oxygen Redox Activation and Superior Structural Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
P2‐type sodium layered oxides have potential for high‐voltage operation but suffer from structural instability and capacity fading. This work demonstrates that synergistic Li and Ti co‐doping enhances sodium inventory, suppresses detrimental phase transitions, and activates reversible lattice oxygen redox.

Gyrokinetic electron acceleration in the force-free corona with anomalous resistivity

open access: yes, 2006
We numerically explore electron acceleration and coronal heating by dissipative electric fields. Electrons are traced in linear force-free magnetic fields extrapolated from SOHO/MDI magnetograms, endowed with anomalous resistivity ($\eta$) in localized ...

Neogene plate tectonic reconstructions and geodynamics of North Island sedimentary basins: Implications for the petroleum systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Although the modern Australia-Pacific plate boundary through New Zealand is relatively straight, there have been significant changes in its geometry during the Neogene. Within the North Island sector there has been a fundamental transition from an Alpine

Investigation of the Lithium Extraction Mechanism from LiNi0.6Mn0.2Co0.2O2 by Using Operando Neutron Diffraction in an All‐Solid‐State Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
All‐solid‐state batteries (ASSB) are promising for high‐energy applications. Using a newly designed electrochemical cell, this study demonstrates reversible Li+ insertion/extraction in a thick ASSB and enables operando neutron diffraction. The results reveal structural evolution and H1‐H2 phase coexistence in LiNi0.6Mn0.2Co0.2O2 (NMC622), while ...

A space-time discontinuous Galerkin finite element method for two-fluid problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A space-time discontinuous Galerkin finite element method for two fluid flow problems is presented. By using a combination of level set and cut-cell methods the interface between two fluids is tracked in space-time. The movement of the interface in space-
