Reducing attrition in panel studies in developing countries.

open access: yes, 2004
BACKGROUND: Panel studies offer repeated observations of individuals over time, but the mobility of populations in the developing world often causes attrition in panel studies.

Tracking-Optimized Quantization for H.264 Compression in Transportation Video Surveillance Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We propose a tracking-aware system that removes video components of low tracking interest and optimizes the quantization during compression of frequency coefficients, particularly those that most influence trackers, significantly reducing bitrate while ...

LaSOT: A High-Quality Benchmark for Large-Scale Single Object Tracking [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2018
In this paper, we present LaSOT, a high-quality benchmark for Large-scale Single Object Tracking. LaSOT consists of 1,400 sequences with more than 3.5M frames in total. Each frame in these sequences is carefully and manually annotated with a bounding box,

Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor

Online Tracking Parameter Adaptation based on Evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Parameter tuning is a common issue for many tracking algorithms. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes an online parameter tuning to adapt a tracking algorithm to various scene contexts.

Learning Multi-domain Convolutional Neural Networks for Visual Tracking [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2015
We propose a novel visual tracking algorithm based on the representations from a discriminatively trained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Our algorithm pretrains a CNN using a large set of videos with tracking ground-truths to obtain a generic target

Integration of single‐cell and bulk RNA‐sequencing data reveals the prognostic potential of epithelial gene markers for prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Prostate cancer is a leading malignancy with significant clinical heterogeneity in men. An 11‐gene signature derived from dysregulated epithelial cell markers effectively predicted biochemical recurrence‐free survival in patients who underwent radical surgery or radiotherapy.

Multiview System for Tracking a Fast Moving Object Against Complex Backgrounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Tracking the real world coordinate of a fast moving object against a complex background is very challenging. When designing a multi-view system for this purpose, one key consideration is the arrangement of the cameras such that the object can be ...

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

A Cost-Effective Tracking Algorithm for Hypersonic Glide Vehicle Maneuver Based on Modified Aerodynamic Model

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2016
In order to defend the hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV), a cost-effective single-model tracking algorithm using Cubature Kalman filter (CKF) is proposed in this paper based on modified aerodynamic model (MAM) as process equation and radar measurement model
