Visual Noise Linearly Influences Tracking Performance

2022 44th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC), 2022
This study investigates the influence of visual noise on motor performance in three degrees of freedom (DoFs) tracking task including translation against gravity and rotation. Participants were asked to follow a moving target, visually degraded according to four different levels of noise, plus one no-noise condition.

High-performance template tracking

Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, 2012
Tracking systems are important in computer vision, with applications in video surveillance, human computer interfaces (HCI), etc. Consumer graphics processing units (GPUs) have experienced an extraordinary evolution in both computing performance and programmability, leading to a greater use of the GPU for non-rendering applications, such as image ...

Tracking system performance assessment

Sixth International Conference of Information Fusion, 2003. Proceedings of the, 2003
This paper defines an approach to evaluate automatic target tracking system performance against 15 metrics. These metrics are grouped in the categories of track establishment, track maintenance, track error and false tracks. Performance for each metric is expressed as a probability and these are weighted and combined to give an overall measure of ...

Keeping on track: Performance profiles of low performers in academic educational tracks

British Educational Research Journal, 2014
In countries with high differentiation between academic and vocational education, an individual's future prospects are strongly determined by the educational track to which he or she is assigned. This large‐scale, cross‐sectional study focuses on low‐performing students in academic tracks who face being moved to a vocational track.

Tracking Career Performance of Successful Triathletes

Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 2014
Tracking athletes' performances over time is important but problematic for sports with large environmental effects. Here we have developed career performance trajectories for elite triathletes, investigating changes in swim, cycle, run stages, and total performance times while accounting for environmental and other external factors.Performance times of

High-performance tracking system

1995
In this paper, we describe how reliable SSD feature selection, feature tracking and feature monitoring can be realized and interleaved into a high-performance system with no special-purpose hardware. We consider image brightness and contrast changes in the tracking system which haven't been treated before.

Performance and Tracking Errors

2016
The performance of ETFs is measured by tracking error, commonly defined as the deviation of the returns on net asset values (NAVs) of ETFs from the corresponding returns on the underlying benchmark indices. The deviation tells us how effective and efficient is the fund management in tracking the performance of the benchmark index and delivering the ...

Performance Tracking and Measurement

2014
Now that you know how to test, it’s time to put that testing into action. If you did the exercises in the previous chapter, you have already completed a single experiment. That experiment will provide a foundation for some of the things you’ll be learning in this chapter.

TRACKING PERFORMANCE WITH VARYING ERROR-CRITERIA

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1982
Abstract A compensatory tracking task including an additional error condition is introduced. A number of experiments show that nonlinear manual control behaviour can be induced by the weight given to the error-conditions. Although it represents only a small part of the output-variance, it still may be of importance for the stability of a man-machine ...
