Elastohydrodynamic Traction Characteristics of 5P4E Polyphenyl Ether
Journal of Lubrication Technology, 1973An elastohydrodynamic rolling disk test apparatus has been designed, built, and a matrix of traction data covering a range of loads, speeds, and temperatures have been obtained for 5P4E polyphenyl ether. Measured tractions are found to markedly increase with load and decrease moderately with rolling speed.

Traction Characteristics of a MIL-L-7808 Oil
Journal of Lubrication Technology, 1976Traction versus slip curves for a full matrix of loads, speeds, and temperatures are given for one MIL-L-7808. Hertzian contact pressures from 80,000 psi (551.6 MN/m2) to 150,000 psi (1034.2 MN/m2), speeds from 900 ips (22.9 m/s) to 1,820 ips (46.2 m/s), and temperatures from 75°F (23.9°C) to 160°F (71.1°C) are the test matrix limits of variation. Slip

Influence of Battery Characteristics on Traction Drive Performance
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1994<div class="htmlview paragraph">The development of zero emission vehicles requires new concepts of the electrical drive train. On one hand the vehicle performance for a Californian electric vehicle must give high acceleration values together with enough vehicle range.

Traction Characteristics of Graphite Lubricants at High Temperature
Tribology Transactions, 1988The high temperature (25°C to 538°C) traction characteristics of graphite lubricants containing additives of silver, phosphate glass, and zinc orthophosphate were evaluated in a specially designed ball-on-disk traction device. Bearing quality balls of hot-pressed silicon nitride burnished with the graphite lubricant were loaded against lubricated disks

Measurement and Modeling of Truck Tire Traction Characteristics
1992A new truck tire tester was built to measure tire forces in braking and cornering under various speed, vertical load, and slip angle conditions, and on different pavement surfaces. Six of the most common truck and bus tires were tested. In general, rib tires performed better than lug tires and radial tires performed better than bias-ply tires.
