Genistein in the Prevention and Treatment of Periodontitis: A Review

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2025.
Genistein, an isoflavone compound with diverse pharmacological activities, shows potential as an adjunctive therapeutic agent for periodontitis due to its anti‐inflammatory, antioxidant, and osteoprotective properties. Genistein not only mitigates the degradation of periodontal soft tissue but also demonstrates a protective effect on alveolar bone by ...

Integrative Analyses of Metabolome and Transcriptome Reveals Apocarotenoid and Flavonoid Biosynthesis During Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) Stigmas Development

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2025.
During the development of saffron stigmas, crocetin and flavonoids were primarily synthesized in the early red stage (S1), while crocins were synthesized in the late red stage (S2). The biosynthesis pathways of ABA and picrocrocin were particularly active at anthesis (S3).

Study on Antibacterial Activity of Water Extract of Galla chinensis Against Carbapenemase‐Producing Enterobacteriaceae

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 4, August 2025.
Galla chinensis is an eco‐friendly and effective alternative to traditional antibiotics for combating multidrug resistance. ABSTRACT Carbapenemase‐producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) represents a significant global public health concern, largely driven by factors including misuse of antibiotics and their inappropriate use in livestock.

Extracellular Matrix Signaling Cues: Biological Functions, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 8, August 2025.
Targeting ECM dysregulation: therapeutic strategies for disease intervention. Dysregulated ECM composition and biomechanics contribute to disease pathogenesis in cancer and fibrotic disorders. Physical modulation: Nanomedicine‐based strategies tune ECM physical properties (e.g., density, stiffness) to enhance drug penetration and therapeutic efficacy ...

Dauricine Overcomes Osimertinib Resistance in Lung Cancer by Inducing Ferroptosis via Stabilizing SAT1

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 116, Issue 8, Page 2256-2269, August 2025.
Our study explores the potential of dauricine, a bioactive compound from Menispermum dauricum, to overcome osimertinib resistance in lung cancer. We demonstrate that dauricine, when combined with osimertinib, induces ferroptosis in resistant lung cancer cells by stabilizing SAT1, a key enzyme in oxidative stress regulation.

Protective effects of Paeonia suffruticosa callus extract in skin through anti‐inflammation and repair UVB‐induced damage

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 47, Issue 4, Page 652-664, August 2025.
Peony callus extract (PCE) is beneficial for skin anti‐ageing and sensitivity induced by UVB radiation, through decreasing the level of inflammatory factors and matrix metalloproteinases. Furthermore, our research indicates that PCE effectively improves the total collagen content in human skin. Abstract Objective The study investigated effects of peony
