Probing Early Particle‐Cell Membrane Interactions via Single‐Cell and Single‐Particle Interaction Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The pre‐internalization phase of endocytosis remains poorly characterized at single‐cell levels. Single‐cell pre‐internalization mechanics are investigated using advanced robotic techniques. Cancer cells exhibit biphasic adhesion – rapid initial binding followed by reinforcement – while fibroblasts show gradual engagement.

A High Resolution Spatiotemporal Model for In-Vehicle Black Carbon Exposure: Quantifying the In-Vehicle Exposure Reduction Due to the Euro 5 Particulate Matter Standard Legislation

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2017
Several studies have shown that a significant amount of daily air pollution exposure is inhaled during trips. In this study, car drivers assessed their own black carbon exposure under real-life conditions (223 h of data from 2013).

Biomaterial Strategies for Targeted Intracellular Delivery to Phagocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Phagocytes are essential to a functional immune system, and their behavior defines disease outcomes. Engineered particles offer a strategic opportunity to target phagocytes, harnessing inflammatory modulation in disease. By tuning features like size, shape, and surface, these systems can modulate immune responses and improve targeted treatment for a ...

Factors with the Highest Impact on Road Traffic Deaths in Iran; an Ecological Study

open access: yesArchives of Academic Emergency Medicine, 2019
Introduction: The largest proportion of road traffic deaths (RTDs) happen in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs). The efforts for decreasing RTDs can be successful if there is precise information about its related risk factors.

TLR Agonist Nano Immune Therapy Clears Peritoneal and Systemic Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, March 14, 2025.
Intraperitoneal administration of immunogenic Toll‐like receptor agonist‐modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles leads to rapid internalization by ascites myeloid cells with trafficking to fat‐associated lymphoid clusters. Activation of myeloid cells counters suppressive immune mechanisms associated with peritoneal metastasis, leading to regional and ...

An Immediate Death by Seat Belt Compression; a Forensic Medicine Report

open access: yesArchives of Academic Emergency Medicine, 2018
Although death is a gradual process, sometimes sudden death occurs in a fraction of a minute or seconds. Here we report a 49-year-old man without any underlying disease, which has instantly died in an accident scene due to compression of neck critical ...
