Securing Maritime Traffic Management

2018 IEEE International Conference on Electro/Information Technology (EIT), 2018
The paper introduce into an intelligent maritime traffic management system which make use of an agent based system approach and digital transformation. Digital transformation allows ICT systems to work at a higher degree of connectivity, invisible embedded within the digital ecosystem.

Evaluation of traffic management by the traffic police

12th IEE International Conference on Road Transport Information & Control - RTIC 2004, 2004
Since 1998 a formal cooperation exists between Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch operator for the main road network, and the KLPD, the National Traffic Police. In a five year agreement between the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management and the Ministry of Justice it was acknowledged that the KLPD should play an important role in fighting the

Socially-Aware Traffic Management

2014
Socially-aware traffic management utilizes social information to optimize traffic management in the Internet in terms of traffic load, energy consumption, or end user satisfaction. Several use cases can benefit from socially-aware traffic management and the performance of overlay applications can be enhanced.

Distributed Traffic Management System

2010 12th International Symposium on Symbolic and Numeric Algorithms for Scientific Computing, 2010
This paper aims to offer a potential solution to the traffic management problem. In order to achieve this goal we considered implementing a distributed simulator that brings together a great variety of traffic environments. By adjusting some set of parameters of the simulation, we can get an improvement on average waiting time for many crowded ...

Bandwidth management for AAL2 traffic

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2000
Bandwidth management in AAL2 networks is investigated mainly from the traffic performance point of view. AAL2 is a new asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) adaptation layer. Since it is designed to carry low-bit-rate voice signals efficiently, it should be used in the ATM backbone for mobile networks, especially in the IMT-2000 network (International ...

Traffic violation alert and management

2011 14th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2011
The present paper presents an in-vehicle system for traffic violation alert and management. The system hardware consists of a combination of an on-board computer vision system for traffic sign detection and recognition with a data recorder device for traffic violation alert and management. At present, traffic violations are only focused on three signs:

An experimentation of VANETs for traffic management

2016 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2016
Nowadays, wireless communication technologies have high influence on our daily lives. The vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) is now evolving quickly and attract attention from road operators, car manufacturers and governments. We unveil a fine traffic flow optimization method with VANETs.

Distributed Management of Traffic Intersections

2018
The development of autonomous vehicles has the potential to considerably improve traffic management on urban zones. The coordination of autonomous vehicles at intersections is a trending problem. In this area of research, several approaches have been proposed using centralized solutions.

An update on ATM traffic management

IEEE Network, 1998
The Traffic Management (TM) group at the ATM Forum has been fairly focused on developing a new service called guaranteed frame rate (GFR) service. This service is expected to be positioned as an intermediate alternative between the available bit rate (ABR) service, which uses a closed-loop feedback control framework, and the unspecified bit rate (UBR ...

Combinatorial Learning in Traffic Management

2019
We describe an exact combinatorial learning approach to solve dynamic job-shop scheduling problems arising in traffic management. When a set of vehicles has to be controlled in real-time, a new schedule must be computed whenever a deviation from the current plan is detected, or periodically after a short amount of time.
