Assessment of traffic noise level before and after freeway widening using traffic microsimulation and a refined classic noise prediction method

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, a refined classic noise prediction method based on the VISSIM and FHWA noise prediction model is formulated to analyze the sound level contributed by traffic on the Nanjing Lukou airport connecting freeway before and after widening.

Noise landing charges and passengers' choice of airport. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
This study demonstrates how aircraft noise can be translated into a form of landing charge. The objectives of the thesis were to develop noise landi'ng charges for six of the major airports in England and to determine what the implication it has on ...

Molecular and Cellular Hallmarks of Age‐Related Vestibular Hair Cell Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study utilizes single‐cell RNA‐seq transcriptomes, advanced imaging, and electrophysiology to examine universal and cell‐type‐specific aging signatures of vestibular hair cells. The study shows that impaired hair bundle function is a key driver of age‐related vestibular dysfunction.

Event based indicators for road traffic noise exposure assessment

open access: yes, 2018
Prediction of human response to road traffic noise might be improved by accounting for the occurrence of noise events in addition to using indicators solely based on energy equivalent or percentile measures of noise exposure.

Relationship of Traffic Noise with High Blood Pressure to Pedicab Drivers Around Purabaya Bus Station Surabaya

open access: yesJurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan, 2016
: The existence of bus  station  can  make  some problems, one  of which  is the traffic noise. Traffic noise  can induce an increased blood pressure. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyzed the relationship  between level of traffic noise ...

Deep Learning Network‐Tailored Microenvironment Matching of 4D Bioprinting Bioactive Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DLN dataset was built to analyze MABS composition versus in vitro/in vivo osteogenesis and angiogenesis. An MLP neural network, taking BG morphological parameters as input, extracts bioactive features from these datasets. A rabbit tibial defect model then validates 4D‐printed MABS for adaptability and bone regeneration in critical defects.

A before–after control–impact assessment to understand the potential impacts of highway construction noise and activity on an endangered songbird

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2017
Anthropogenic noise associated with highway construction and operation can have individual‐ and population‐level consequences for wildlife (e.g., reduced densities, decreased reproductive success, behavioral changes).

Equivalent Noise Level Response to Number of Vehicles: A Comparison between a High Traffic Flow and Low Traffic Flow Highway in Malaysia

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2014
Although much research on road traffic noise has found that noise level increase are influenced by driver behaviour and source- receiver distance, little attention has been paid to the relationship between noise level and total number of vehicles on the ...
