Context-Aware Traffic Prediction: Loss Function Formulation for Predicting Traffic in 5G Networks
ICC 2021 - IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2021The standard for 5G communication exploits the concept of a network slice, defined as a virtualized subset of the physical resources of the 5G communication infrastructure. As a large number of network slices is deployed over a 5G network, it is necessary to determine the physical resource demand of each network slice, and how it varies over time. This

Traffic Coordination Using Aggregation-Based Traffic Predictions
IEEE Intelligent Systems, 2014A route-guidance system is described, which aggregates information obtained from the drivers participating in the system. Because the data is information related to the future state of the traffic network, the system doesn't require extrapolation from the current traffic network to make predictions about the future state of the traffic network.

Visual Predictions of Traffic Conditions
2015The proliferation of internet connected cameras means that drivers can easily access camera images to find out the current traffic conditions as part of their daily commute planning. This paper describes our novel system that will enhance the commute planning process by presenting the current traffic camera image and forecast the expected traffic ...

Accident Analysis & Prevention, 2020
from probability theory and probabilistic random walk, predictions about the quantity of cases of a given phenomenon for certain year, such as epidemics of dengue, have been previously obtained with results close to 100% in precision. To confirm the applicability of a methodology based on probability and probabilistic random walk to predict the dynamics

Traffic prediction models for Bangkok traffic data
The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011, 2011This Paper presents a prediction model of traffic congestion condition on the roads in Bangkok. The results from our prediction model will be useful for systems related to traffic information. We constructed a model which can achieve 92.1% of accuracy on prediction of the congestion condition in next 30 minutes.

A road traffic accidents prediction model for traffic service robot
Library Hi Tech, 2020PurposeIn recent years, the demand for road traffic has continued to increase, but the casualties and economic losses caused by traffic accidents have also remained high. Therefore, the use of social service robots to manage, supervise and warn real-time traffic information has become an inevitable trend of traffic safety management.Design/methodology ...

Traffic signal control based on a predicted traffic jam distribution
Artificial Life and Robotics, 2009In this article, we propose a new method of traffic signal control based on the predicted distribution of traffic jams. First, we built a forecasting model to predict the probability distribution of vehicles being in a traffic jam during each period of the traffic signals. A dynamic Bayesian network was used as the forecasting model, and this predicted

An urban traffic simulation model for traffic congestion predicting and avoiding
Neural Computing and Applications, 2016Urban traffic congestion is a common problem that affects many cities around the world. In this paper, an actual urban traffic simulation model (AUTM) for traffic congestion predicting and avoiding is proposed, which includes three key components: the map and transfer (MT) conversion method, the optimized spatial evolution rules, and a congestion ...

Utilizing Automatic Traffic Counters to Predict Traffic Flow Speed
2019 12th International Conference on Developments in eSystems Engineering (DeSE), 2019In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, one of the key drivers of change is a sharing economy or so called “uberization”. Uberization is especially rapidly developing in the service sector, in particular – when organizing individual passenger transportation by taxi services.

Providing Multimedia Traffic with Predictability
2002Real-time packet schedulers have been studied extensively to support end-to-end bounded delay for multimedia traffic. Even though real-time flows are guaranteed by admission control scheme in the packet scheduler, their schedulability can be violated by arrival of non-real-time traffic. In this paper, we propose a new packet scheduler scheme to provide
