A Bio‐Inspired Visual Sensor With UV‐to‐NIR Fusion for Enhanced Recognition in Autonomous Driving Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the sophisticated multilayer retinal architecture found in Pacific salmon eyes, a novel van der Waals heterojunction sensor based on NbNiTe5/BP is designed. Upon illumination at distinct wavelengths of 365 and 820 nm, the device exhibits distinctive bipolar photocurrent responses with opposite polarities. This unique optoelectronic behavior

Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.

Experimental Demonstration of Temporally Aware Fault‐Tolerant Sensor Fusion Using Memristive Associative Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
In dynamic driving scenarios, the proposed approach ensures only temporally aligned sensor inputs to make driving decisions, preventing false activations. By enabling selective hardware‐level learning, it achieves fast, reliable responses under noisy conditions.

Self-Organizing Traffic at a Malfunctioning Intersection [PDF]

open access: yes
Traffic signals and traffic flow models have been studied extensively in the past and have provided valuable insights on the design of signalling systems, congestion control, and punitive policies. This paper takes a slightly different tack and describes

Highly‐Uniform Passive Crossbar Arrays of Resistive Switching Random Access Memory (RRAM) for In‐Memory Computing Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Passive resistive memory arrays promise efficient in‐memory computing but suffer from sneak paths and programming variability. Here, highly uniform 32 × 32 passive RRAM crossbars are programmed with multilevel precision below 3% error and 99.5% yield.
