Stability Analysis and Prediction of Traffic Flow of Trucks at Road Intersections Based on Heterogenous Optimal Velocity and Artificial Neural Network Model

open access: yesSmart Cities, 2022
The evolution of traffic-related accidents caused by long, short, and medium trucks at signalized road intersections have been underemphasized in the last few years.

End-To-End Microflow Performance Measurement of IPv6 Traffic Over Diverse Wireless Topologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In order to facilitate resource accountability in environments with rapidly and unpredictably evolving traffic dynamics, it is of key importance to develop mechanisms capable of ubiquitously measuring different performance aspects of the diverse ...

Health Risk of Increased O3 Concentration Based on Regional Emission Characteristics under the Unusual State of the COVID-19 Pandemic

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2021
Photochemical oxidant concentration increases with the decrease in nitrogen oxide (NOx) concentration in volatile organic compound (VOC)-sensitive areas with several automobiles and factories.

Right-Turn Traffic Volume Adjustment in Traffic Signal Warrant Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesTransportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2016
An intersection with heavy right-turn volumes, without any reduction, might mislead a signal warrant analysis, and a different conclusion may be reached on whether a signal is warranted. Previous right-turn volume reduction methods based mostly on engineering judgment lack specific theoretical backgrounds.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Development of a Method for Estimating Traffic Volume Fluctuations That Considers Calendar Information and Road Network Geometry

open access: yesIEEE Access
This study aims to develop a method for estimating the traffic volume at locations and time periods where past data are unavailable. To achieve this, we constructed a model based on seven years of traffic volume observations on 22 main roads in Tokyo ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified
