Traffic prediction for dynamic traffic engineering considering traffic variation

2013 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2013
Traffic engineering with traffic prediction is one approach to accommodate time-varying traffic without frequent route changes. In this approach, the routes are calculated so as to avoid congestion based on the predicted traffic. The accuracy of the traffic prediction however has large impacts on this approach.

Fundamental study on underwater trafficability for tracked vehicle

Journal of Terramechanics, 2021
In recent years, water disasters have increased in Japan. In water disaster, remote controlled vehicles which work for disaster recovery must run in water environment. Since underwater ground is likely to be soft, the vehicle has a risk of stuck.

Development of rule based approach for assessment of off-road trafficability using remote sensing and ancillary data

, 2020
Off-road trafficability is one of the most important factors during military operations. Primarily, there are four factors like landuse, soil type, slope and moisture, which are responsible for predicting off-road trafficability.

Trafficability anticipation for quadruped robot in field operation

Journal of Field Robotics
The capability to predict catastrophic failures and anticipate challenges relating to trafficability enables quadruped robots to adjust their planned trajectory in time to prevent any damages.

Traffic engineering with estimated traffic matrices

Proceedings of the 2003 ACM SIGCOMM conference on Internet measurement - IMC '03, 2003
Traffic engineering and traffic matrix estimation are often treated as separate fields, even though one of the major applications for a traffic matrix is traffic engineering. In cases where a traffic matrix cannot be measured directly, it may still be estimated from indirect data (such as link measurements), but these estimates contain errors.

Assessment of soil trafficability across the agricultural region of the Canadian Prairies with the gridded climate data set

Soil and Tillage Research, 2018
The frequency of days with poor soil trafficability across the Canadian Prairies was determined from simulated soil moisture at soil polygon level during the growing season (April to September) with the Versatile Soil Moisture Budget (VSMB) model.

Traffic prediction for dynamic traffic engineering

Computer Networks, 2015
Traffic engineering with traffic prediction is a promising approach to accommodate time-varying traffic without frequent route changes. In this approach, the routes are decided so as to avoid congestion on the basis of the predicted traffic. However, if the range of variation including temporal traffic changes within the next control interval is not ...

The Traffic Problem, Traffic Laws, and Traffic Courts

The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, 1953
At the end of 1952 the fatalities aggregated 38,000; nonfatal injuries 1,350,000; and property damage amounted to $3.5 million. Since the invention of the automobile, more than one million have lost their lives in traffic accidents. The millionth death occurred in December 1951.

Cataract in traffic

Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 1999
To obtain a driver's licence to drive a private passenger car, the binocular visual acuity required is 0.5 or better, and the minimum horizontal width of the visual field is 120 degrees . Persons who fulfill these requirements can obtain a driver's licence even if they have an eye disease such as cataract.
