Development of a Three‐Axis Planar Hall Magnetoresistance Sensor Using a Superparamagnetic Nanoparticle‐Based Flux Guide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A printed superparamagnetic nanoparticle‐based flux guide enables the realization of a hysteresis‐free three‐axis magnetic sensor. This innovative architecture efficiently redirects out‐of‐plane fields to planar sensing elements, facilitating simultaneous vector detection without complex reset protocols.

Adaptive Smoothing for Trajectory Reconstruction

open access: yes, 2018
Trajectory reconstruction is the process of inferring the path of a moving object between successive observations. In this paper, we propose a smoothing spline -- which we name the V-spline -- that incorporates position and velocity information and a penalty term that controls acceleration.

Optical Signature of Moiré Superlattices Formed by Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We discover optical signatures from bonded interfaces in twisted SrTiO3 moiré superlattices, including low‐frequency Raman vibrational modes and strong second‐harmonic generation, consistent with strong interlayer coupling inferred from cross‐sectional electron microscopy and ab initio calculations. ABSTRACT Moiré superlattices formed at the interfaces

BAARTR: Boundary-Aware Adaptive Regression for Kinematically Consistent Vessel Trajectory Reconstruction from Sparse AIS

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The Automatic Identification System (AIS) frequently suffers from data loss and irregular report intervals in real maritime environments, compromising the reliability of downstream navigation, monitoring, and trajectory reconstruction tasks.

Real Time Estimation of the Pose of a Lower Limb Prosthesis from a Single Shank Mounted IMU

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The command of a microprocessor-controlled lower limb prosthesis classically relies on the gait mode recognition. Real time computation of the pose of the prosthesis (i.e., attitude and trajectory) is useful for the correct identification of these modes.

From Photoalignment to Structured Light: Liquid Crystal Platforms for Beam Shaping and Complex Wavefronts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photoaligned and photopatterned liquid crystal platforms provide programmable control of optical phase, polarization, and spin‐orbit interactions, enabling compact generation of structured light and complex wavefronts. This review highlights how tailored molecular orientations transform simple beams into designed optical fields, opening versatile ...

Operando Tracking of Oxygen‐Vacancy Dynamics and Negative Capacitance in Ca‐Doped BiFeO3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Operando electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, combined with electrocoloration, enables a direct correlation between real‐space ionic redistribution and the corresponding frequency‐domain electrical response. In lateral Ca‐doped BiFeO3 devices, time‐resolved impedance snapshots capture the evolution from bulk‐dominated mixed conduction to an ...

Dopant Distribution in Ga‐Implanted CdO—A Correlative Microscopy and Molecular Dynamics Study

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that ion implantation offset angle could modulate carrier concentration and mobility in cadmium oxide thin films. Combining correlative microscopy workflow and molecular dynamics simulations, this study reveals the control of interfacial cluster density with tailoring implantation angles, and the optimum offset angle that ...

An automated algorithm for the generation of dynamically reconstructed trajectories

open access: yesChaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2010
The lack of long enough data sets is a major problem in the study of many real world systems. As it has been recently shown [C. Komalapriya, M. Thiel, M. C. Romano, N. Marwan, U. Schwarz, and J. Kurths, Phys. Rev. E 78, 066217 (2008)], this problem can be overcome in the case of ergodic systems if an ensemble of short trajectories is available, from ...
