Three species of the mycoheterotrophic orchid genus Yoania found in Taiwan and China are associated with a single taxonomic unit of white‐rot fungus from the genus Physisporinus and exhibit a stable isotope pattern distinct from other fully mycoheterotrophic (FMH) orchids associated with wood‐decaying fungi.

This study showed the first successful synthesis of selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) using laccase purified from Pleurotus floridanus, offering an eco‐friendly and biocompatible replacement to conventional chemical methods. The biosynthesized SeNPs exhibited significant antiproliferative effects on MCF‐7 breast cancer cells, with cell cycle analysis ...

Synthetic dye decolorization by three sources of fungal laccase [PDF]
Decolorization of six synthetic dyes using three sources of fungal laccase with the origin of Aspergillus oryzae, Trametes versicolor, and Paraconiothyrium variabile was investigated. Among them, the enzyme from P.

Biological Degradation of Spent Coffee Grounds by White Rot Fungi
Spent coffee grounds (SCG) are an extensively generated byproduct of coffee production and consumption. This study demonstrates the ability of white rot fungi to degrade SCG, achieving more than 40% carbohydrate reduction and producing active lignocellulose‐degrading enzymes, highlighting a potential biological approach for the valorization of this ...

Assessing the ability of white-rot fungi to tolerate polychlorinated biphenyls using predictive mycology [PDF]
The aim of the present study was to assess the ability of different white-rot fungi to tolerate polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) using predictive mycology, by relating fungal growth inhibition to ligninolityc enzyme secretion.

Color and COD Removal From ECF Effluent by Airlift Reactor With Immobilized Lentinus edodes
Airlift bioreactor treating ECF bleaching effluent with Lentinus edodes immobilized on polystyrene fibers achieved up to 48% color and 41% COD removal. Under optimized aeration (300 mL/min) and HRT (78 h) without glucose, COD removal remained stable for 15 days, supporting a low‐input, enzyme‐driven strategy for pulp‐and‐paper wastewater.
