Insights into the mechanism of cyanobacteria removal by the algicidal fungi Bjerkandera adusta and Trametes versicolor. [PDF]

open access: yesMicrobiologyopen, 2020
Fungal mycelia can eliminate almost all cocultured cyanobacterial cells within a short time. However, molecular mechanisms of algicidal fungi are poorly understood.

Growth of Trametes versicolor on phenol

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology, 2008
Trametes versicolor 1 was shown to grow on phenol as its sole carbon and energy source. The culture growth and degradation ability dependence on culture medium pH value was observed. The optimal pH value of a liquid Czapek salt medium was 6.5. The investigated strain utilized completely 0.5 g/l phenol in 6 days.

Assessing the ability of white-rot fungi to tolerate polychlorinated biphenyls using predictive mycology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The aim of the present study was to assess the ability of different white-rot fungi to tolerate polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) using predictive mycology, by relating fungal growth inhibition to ligninolityc enzyme secretion.
