Abstract The selectivity of gillnets and entangling nets (trammel and semi-trammel nets) was estimated directly by setting nets in outdoor tanks containing a known population of rainbow trout ( Oncorhynchus mykiss ). From the directly estimated selectivity, the entangling effect of the trammel and semitrammel nets was estimated using the gillnet as ...

Seasonal variations in selectivity of plaice trammel nets
Fisheries Research, 2003Abstract The size selectivity of plaice trammel nets was measured in an experiment using catch at length data from six different mesh sizes. Three trials at different times of the year were conducted on a traditional Danish gill-netter giving a total catch of 17,163 plaice—one of the largest European gill/trammel net datasets.

Relative Efficiencies of Three Trammel Net Striking Methods
Estuaries, 1984The relative capture efficiencies for fish in 732-m trammel nets using three striking methods were compared using nets set in open-water and along the shoreline in Texas bays in fall and spring. When compared to noise, sublethal concentrations of rotenone and KMnO4 did not increase the catches of 9 of the 12 species tested at either shoreline or open ...

Landed and discarded catches from commercial prawn trammel net fishery
Journal of Applied Ichthyology, 2007Summary This study presents estimates of numbers and biomass of discarded and landed catches from the commercial prawn trammel net fishery in Izmir Bay. A total of 43 finfish and 29 invertebrate species were identified in catches sampled between May and October 2003, with 26 species landed by fishers and 46 species discarded.

Discard survival in Trammel net and Danish seine
2019European plaice (Pleuronectes platessa) is a key species for Danish commercial and recreational fishing. A discard ban in the reformed European Union’s Common Fisheries Policy includes the possibility of exempting from the landing obligation “species for which scientific evidence demonstrates high survival rates”.

Characteristics of shrimp catching with trammel nets in Iskenderun Bay
Journal of FisheriesSciences.com, 2009This project was conducted during December 2007-2008. Questionare was applied to fisherman and the head of fishing cooparatives in eleven fishing ports. Questionare work carried out in total was 127 fishing boats. The results of this project have shown that shrimp catching with trammel net has been used troughout all year, especially this type

Sole catching with trammel nets in İskenderun Bay.

The effect of trammel nets colour on catch efficiency.

Comparison of electrofishing and trammel netting variability for sampling native fishes
Journal of Fish Biology, 2004The variability in size structure and relative abundance (CPUE; number of fish ≥200 mm total length, LT, collected per hour of electrofishing or trammel netting) of three native Colorado River fishes, the endangered humpback chub Gila cypha, flannelmouth sucker Catostomus latipinnus and bluehead sucker Catostomus discobolus, collected from ...
