Diazido mixed-amine platinum(IV) anticancer complexes activatable by visible-light form novel DNA adducts [PDF]
Platinum diam(m)ine complexes, such as cisplatin, are successful anticancer drugs, but suffer from problems of resistance and side-effects. Photoactivatable PtIV prodrugs offer the potential of targeted drug release and new mechanisms of action.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Functional characterization of synthetic leukotriene B and its stereochemical isomers. [PDF]
Leukotriene B (LTB), a potent lipid chemotactic factor for neutrophils, is 5S,12R-dihydroxy-6,14-cis,8,10-trans-eicosatetraenoic acid (Fig 1), based upon direct comparison of natural LTB with synthetic 5S,12R-dihydroxy-6,8,10,14-eicosatetraenoic acid (5 ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Ruminal bacterial community change in response to diet-induced variation of ruminal trans-10 fatty acids [PDF]
Trans fatty acids (FA) are produced during the biohydrogenation of linoleic acid in the rumen. Because of their health‐promoting properties, trans‐11 isomers, which are usually the most abundant biohydrogenation intermediates, are most desirable (1 ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

A deficiency of documentation in translation historiography in Spain: reflections about performed but unpublished (Austrian) theatre [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to underline the importance of recovering translated but not published literature in Spain so as to contribute exhaustively to translation history.

Highly alkylated cyclohexanes. X-Ray crystal structures, force-field calculations, and conformations of cis/trans-1,4-disubstituted cyclohexane isomers [PDF]
The structures of mesylated cis- and trans-tetramethylshisool cis- 2 and trans-2 have been elucidated by single-crystal X-ray techniques. In cis-2 the isopropenyl group adopts an axial position in the crystal, and the structural data obtained are in good

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.
