Supervision and Transaction Costs: Evidence from Rice Farms in Bicol, the Philippines [PDF]

open access: yes
Labor markets in all economies are subject to transaction costs associated with recruiting, monitoring and supervising workers. Rural labor markets in developing economies, where institutions such as labor and contract law and formal employment ...

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

IDENTIFYING AND QUANTIFYING COMPONENTS OF TRANSACTION COSTS IN THE BANKING SYSTEM [PDF]

open access: yesRisk in Contemporary Economy, 2015
The concept of transaction costs takes a pivotal seat in the institutions’ economic analysis. I’ll begin the analysis by presenting this concept and some attempts at quantification.

Advancing Electronic Application of Coordination Solids: Enhancing Electron Transport and Device Integration via Surface‐Mounted MOFs (SURMOFs)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...

Hedging large risks reduces the transaction costs

open access: yes, 2000
As soon as one accepts to abandon the zero-risk paradigm of Black-Scholes, very interesting issues concerning risk control arise because different definitions of the risk become unequivalent.

Transaction Cost and the Small Stock Puzzle: The Impact of Outliers in the NYSE, 1970-2000 [PDF]

open access: yes
In this article we study the effect of transaction costs on asset prices. We examine the characteristics of the actual extreme performers (Outliers), their stock prices, and transactions cost and link them to firm size. The analyses is based on data from
