SSRP1/SLC3A2 Axis in Arginine Transport: A New Target for Overcoming Immune Evasion and Tumor Progression in Peripheral T‐Cell Lymphoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Enhanced arginine uptake is a critical feature of metabolic reprogramming in PTCL, characterized by elevated expression of the arginine transporter SLC3A2. SLC3A2‐mediated arginine uptake facilitates PTCL proliferation and survival by enhancing OXPHOS metabolism and inducing immune evasion.

The Effect of De-Fatted Moringa Oleifera Seed Powder on Growth Rate and some Biochemical Parameters of Albino Rats

open access: yesThe Bioscientist, 2013
The nutritional and therapeutic properties of Moringa oleifera cannot be overemphasized, since all the parts of the plant (leaves, seeds, root, bark, pods etc.) have been reported to possess antibiotic, anti-hypertensive, anti-tumor and anti-oxidative ...

Asprosin‐FABP5 Interaction Modulates Mitochondrial Fatty Acid Oxidation through PPARα Contributing to MASLD Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Aided by FABP5, abnormally elevated asprosin in hepatocytes enters the nucleus, targets and inhibits PPARα binding to the CPT1A promoter, thereby suppressing FAO. Circulating asprosin exacerbates insulin resistance, collectively driving MASLD progression.

Renal and Hepatic Dysfunction in Malaria Patients in Minna, North Central Nigeria [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Information on kidney and liver involvement in malaria in Africa is still very scanty. Kidney and liver functions were assessed in 70 malaria patients using serum levels of creatinine and urea and urinary protein levels as test indicators of kidney ...

Discovery, Herbicidal Activity and Biosynthesis of a Novel Natural Tetramic Acid from Alternaria Species

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The biosynthetic mechanism of novel natural tetramic acid S‐TeA in Alternaria alternata is elucidated. Threonine acts as a precursor for 2‐amino‐3‐methylhexanoic acid (AMHA) synthesis via eight key enzymes from the branched‐chain amino acid biosynthetic pathway in the mitochondrion, wherein three unique enzymes (IPMS, IPMDH, and ISMD) play critical ...

Model‐Guided Rational Construction of Escherichia coli Synthetic Consortia for Enhanced 2‐Methylbutyric Acid Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a citramalate‐derived pathway for 2‐methylbutyric acid production in E. coli mono‐culture and consortia. The optimized consortium, using 2‐keto‐3‐methylvalerate as a node, achieved 1817.03 ± 103.73 mg L−1 2‐methylbutyric acid, a 28‐fold increase from the initial strain, with a yield of 0.091 g/g glucose.
