Narrating Entanglement Without Dehumanisation in Contemporary Eco‐Fiction

open access: yesFuture Humanities, Volume 4, Issue 1, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This essay presents a comparative analysis of two contemporary works of eco‐fiction, Richard Powers's The Overstory (2018) and Eleanor Catton's Birnam Wood (2023). Alignment of the Starlings: Learning With Generative AI

open access: yesFuture Humanities, Volume 4, Issue 1, May 2026.
ABSTRACT I will argue that answers to normative questions concerning the place of generative AI in learning rest on answers to ontological questions regarding (1) precisely what is happening when a human ‘interacts’ with generative AI and (2) What is distinctive about organic learning as opposed to currently existing ‘machine learning’ (3) What is the ...

Eco‐Epidemiological Mathematical Model Analysis With Time Delays and Hopf Bifurcation

open access: yesNatural Resource Modeling, Volume 39, Issue 2, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Ecological and infection predator prey mathematical model is important tool for understanding complex systems and forecasting outcomes biologically. Incorporating saturation mass action incidence rates representing the rate of susceptible prey infection as a function of time along with time delay terms, makes more realistic and reflective of ...

Measuring birational derived splinters

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract This work is concerned with categorical methods for studying singularities. Our focus is on birational derived splinters, which is a notion that extends the definition of rational singularities beyond varieties over fields of characteristic zero. Particularly, we show that an invariant called ‘level’ in the associated derived category measures
