EFFICACY OF DIFFERENT TREATMENT MODALITIES ON SPASTICITY MANAGEMENT OF SPINAL CORD INJURY USING H-REFLEX STUDY

open access: yesThe Iraqi Journal of Medical Sciences, 2016
Background: Spasticity is one of the most frequently observed phenomena after a lesion of the upper motor neuron system. Treatment of spasticity should not be aimed at its complete removal but rather at improving function, easing care or alleviating pain.

The Role of Ionic Liquids at the Biological Interfaces in Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
Ionic liquids (ILs) are highlighted as key artificial ionic materials that bridge biological ion‐based signaling and electronic devices. By understanding their composition, structure, function relationships, and mechanisms, ILs can advance from high performance electrolyte to core materials enabling integrated, multifunctional bioelectronics for ...

Versatile DNA Hydrogel‐Mediated Delivery of Ginsenoside‐Encapsulated Small Extracellular Vesicles to Boost Diabetic Wound Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
This study presents a DNA hydrogel‐mediated delivery system, in which ginsenoside (GS) molecules are incorporated into small extracellular vesicles (sEV) secreted by mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and the formed complexes are then anchored in DNA hydrogels via aptamer‐CD63 affinity as “GS/sEV@DNAgels”, to improve diabetic wound repair.

Nutritional Interventions and Acupuncture‐Based Strategies for Exercise‐Induced Fatigue and Recovery: Mechanisms and Integrative Perspectives

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
Excessive exercise induces exercise‐induced fatigue through multiple interconnected mechanisms, including energy shortage and metabolite accumulation, oxidative stress and inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and neuroendocrine strain. Integrative management strategies include nutrition‐based approaches and acupuncture‐based interventions ...

Mechanistic Explanations of Manual Therapy Do Not Influence Outcomes in Healthy Individuals: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Manual therapy is widely applied for musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain, yet the mechanisms underlying its effects remain incompletely understood. Local biomechanical and central neurophysiological processes are considered relevant, while contextual factors such as patient expectations and therapist beliefs may further ...
