Researching Writing Program Administration Expertise in Action: A Case Study of Collaborative Problem Solving as Transdisciplinary Practice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Theorizing WPA expertise as problem-oriented, stakeholder-inclusive practice, we apply the twenty-first-century paradigm of transdisciplinarity to a campus WID Initiative to read and argue that data-driven research capturing transdisciplinary WPA methods

Meaning in the face of changing climate risks: Connecting agency, sensemaking and narratives of change through transdisciplinary research

open access: yes, 2020
This paper contributes to the body of knowledge associated with the analysis of transdisciplinary research. We use a narrative centered approach, focusing on hybridity, sensemaking and the potential for transdisciplinary research to foster agency.

Localized Heterogeneous Nucleation for Vapor‐Assisted Sequential Deposition of Metal Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A compact, nonporous, and highly crystalline layered inorganic precursor formed by thermal evaporation inherently restricts its conversion into the halide perovskite phase during vapor‐assisted hybrid two‐step deposition. Introducing localized heterogeneous nucleation sites during vapor deposition enables deliberate modulation of the inorganic layer's ...

Transdisciplinarity seen through Information, Communication, Computation, (Inter-)Action and Cognition

open access: yes, 2016
Similar to oil that acted as a basic raw material and key driving force of industrial society, information acts as a raw material and principal mover of knowledge society in the knowledge production, propagation and application.

Enhancing systems thinking in corporate sustainability through a transdisciplinary research process

open access: yes, 2020
Sustainability is no longer a peripheral topic for most corporations, as they increasingly adopt more proactive business strategies. In spite of this, there has not been sufficient positive change in corporate practice and research indicates that our ...

Multiscale Perspectives on Perovskite Instability: From Atomistic Deformation to Device Degradation in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale perspectives on how excess charges in soft lead halide perovskites induce operational instability in photovoltaic devices are presented. Localized carriers formed under thermodynamic non‐equilibrium states modify atomistic interactions and drive lattice distortions, accelerating device degradation.

Estimation of sedimentary proxy records together with associated uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 2014
Sedimentary proxy records constitute a significant portion of the recorded evidence that allows us to investigate paleoclimatic conditions and variability. However, uncertainties in the dating of proxy archives limit our ability to fix the timing of past

EMG‐Driven Telemetry and Inference System for Fish: Pose Reconstruction and Flow Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work introduces an electromyography (EMG)‐driven telemetry framework that reconstructs body pose and infers hydrodynamic conditions in freely swimming fish. A custom 16‐channel archival system records intramuscular EMG, enabling deep‐learning models to decode joint kinematics, classify flow regimes, and reveal channel‐efficient sensing strategies.
