Transduction in Actinomycetes

Nature, 1960
GENETIC transduction has been demonstrated in a limited number of bacterial species, such as Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Shigella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa 1–4.

Generalized Transduction

2009
Transduction is the process in which bacterial DNA is transferred from one bacterial cell to another by means of a phage particle. There are two types of transduction, generalized transduction and specialized transduction. In this chapter two of the best-studied systems - Escherichia coli-phage P1, and Salmonella enterica-phage P22 - are discussed from

Syntax-Directed Transduction

Journal of the ACM, 1966
A transduction is a mapping from one set of sequences to another. A syntax-directed transduction is a particular type of transduction which is defined on the grammar of a context-free language and which is meant to be a model of part of the translation process used in many compilers.

Signal transduction

British Medical Bulletin, 1991
Ordered cell proliferation relies on a complex interplay between diverse cell types, interstitial stroma and organ vasculature. At a cellular level the response to growth stimuli is dependent on the bidirectional exchange of information between the cell membrane and nucleus.

Transduction and Coding

2006
Odor transduction and quality coding involves a cascade of events that occur at the level of the olfactory epithelium and olfactory bulbs. Odorants bind to one or a few specific olfactory receptors located in the cilia of olfactory neurons. These olfactory receptor proteins make up the largest gene family discovered and are diverse between and within ...

Hydroacoustic Transduction

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1973
Professor Hunt once asked, “Can you ‘blow’ a whistle under water?” This question was perhaps the first of a series of events that has led to the emergence of a new power-conversion technology for the efficient conversion of hydraulic power to acoustic or vibratory power.

Identities and transductions

1994
Let ι be the identity relation on the monoid A*. It is shown that the problem ι is undecidable for rational transductions τ. On the other hand, the problems ι and τ=ι are easily seen to be decidable.

Phage Transduction

2016
Bacteriophages mediate horizontal gene transfer through a mechanism known as transduction. Phage transduction carried out in the laboratory involves a bacterial donor and a recipient, both of which are susceptible to infection by the phage of interest.

ITERATION OF INVERTIBLE TRANSDUCTIONS

International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2014
We study iterated transductions defined by a class of invertible Mealy automata over the binary alphabet. It is shown that in some cases the resulting orbit relation is rational and we determine the complexity of several natural computational problems associated with the iterated transductions.
