Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

The Coltman series for obtaining the optical transfer function from measurements of the bar transfer function is mathematically derived. The bar transfer function rather than the contrast transfer function is defined so that the relation remains valid when an image exhibits phase reversal.

Transfer function combinations
Computers and Graphics, 2012Direct volume rendering has been an active area of research for over two decades. Transfer function design remains a difficult task since current methods, such as traditional 1D and 2D transfer functions, are not always effective for all data sets.

AbstractIn statistical time‐series analysis, signal processing, and control engineering, a transfer function is a mathematical relationship between a numerical input to a dynamic system and the resulting output. The theory of transfer functions describes how the input/output relationship is affected by the structure of the transfer function. Copyright ©

Factorizations of Transfer Functions
SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1980This paper is concerned with minimal factorizations of rational matrix functions. The treatment is based on a new geometrical principle. In fact, it is shown that there is a one-to-one correspondence between minimal factorizations on the one hand and certain projections on the other.

Transfer function design in volume visualization has been a challenging problem due to the huge design space. In this work, we present a system which is capable of integrating the transfer function design results from a group of users. For a specified volume dataset, intermediate and final transfer function designs for many users with different ...

Abstract. We discuss the problem of estimating the transfer function and an autoregressive model for measurement noise in a linear system. A parameterization that is often more parsimonious than the usual ARX model is used. Particular emphasis is given to the selection of model orders when it is not assumed that the true system is finitely parameterized.
