The PSD transfer function

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 2002
The authors describe the dynamic behavior of position sensitive detectors. Earlier work has described the PSD response to changes in light intensity. Here, we investigate the PSD response to a change of light spot position. We call the linear filter describing this response the PSD transfer function (PTF).

Deriving the Coltman correction for transforming the bar transfer function to the optical transfer function (or the contrast transfer function to the modulation transfer function)

Applied Optics, 1998
The Coltman series for obtaining the optical transfer function from measurements of the bar transfer function is mathematically derived. The bar transfer function rather than the contrast transfer function is defined so that the relation remains valid when an image exhibits phase reversal.

Transfer function reducibility

Systems & Control Letters, 1981
In this aper a new proog of a theorem [1] in the equivalence of the existence of a proper invariant subspace and the direct for decomposability of a transfer function is presented.

TRANSFER FUNCTION ESTIMATION

Journal of Time Series Analysis, 1993
Abstract. We discuss the problem of estimating the transfer function and an autoregressive model for measurement noise in a linear system. A parameterization that is often more parsimonious than the usual ARX model is used. Particular emphasis is given to the selection of model orders when it is not assumed that the true system is finitely parameterized.

The transfer function of the cochlea

Quarterly Reviews of Biophysics, 1978
A sinusoidal signal is generally considered the simplest auditory signal. It is, indeed, a simple signal. However, it does not follow that a complex analysing device, like the cochlea, should treat a simple signal in a simple way. Indeed, a simple signal may appear to be complex when viewed from the standpoint of the device considered.

Converter Transfer Functions

2001
The engineering design process is comprised of several major steps: 1. Specifications and other design goals are defined. 2. A circuit is proposed. This is a creative process that draws on the physical insight and experience of the engineer. 3. The circuit is modeled.

Transfer Function

2004
This chapter defines the Laplace transform and the term transfer function and explains how it is used to relate outputs to inputs for systems. Block diagram simplification techniques are developed as an aid in the evaluation of the overall transfer function of a number of system elements.

Composite modeling of transfer functions

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1995
Summary: The problem under consideration is how to estimate the frequency response function of a system and the associated estimation error when a set of possible model structures is given and then one of them is known to contain the true system.

Divisibility of Transfer Functions

1979
A node is a system θ = (A,B,C,D;X,U,Y) of three complex Banach spaces X,U,Y and four (bounded linear) operators A:X → X, B:U → X, C:X → Y and D:U → Y. The spaces U,X and Y are called the input space, state space and output space, respectively. Further the operator A is referred to as the state space operator or main operator.
