Bond, Transfer Length, and Development Length of Prestressing Strand in Self-Consolidating Concrete

2012
Due to its economic advantages, the use of self-consolidating concrete (SCC) has increased rapidly in recent years. However, because SCC mixes typically have decreased amounts of coarse aggregate and high amounts of admixtures, industry members have expressed concerns that the bond of prestressing strand in SCC may be compromised.

Effect of cantilever length on stress transfer by implant-supported prostheses

Implant Dentistry, 1994
Cantilever lengths for fixed implant supported prostheses have been based largely on empirical judgment. This study determined the effects of cantilever length on load transfer to the mandible. A photoelastic model of a moderately resorbed edentulous human mandible with five 13 mm Bränemark implants was constructed.

Experimental Assessment of Factors Affecting Transfer Length

ACI Structural Journal, 2003
Transfer lengths (TLs) were measured for 184 transfer zones in 36 plant-cast AASHTO Type I girders prestressed by 0.6 in. diameter strands at 2 in. spacing. The influence of concrete compressive strengths ranging from 5,700-14,700 psi (39-101 MPa) is studied.

Multinational Transfer Pricing, Tax Arbitrage, and the Arm's Length Principle

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2004
This paper studies the multinational firm's choice of transfer prices when the firm uses separate transfer prices for tax and managerial incentive purposes, and when there is penalty for non‐compliance with the arm's length principle. The optimal incentive transfer price is shown to be a weighted average of marginal cost and the optimal tax transfer ...

Inter-hospital lateral transfer does not increase length of stay

Australian Health Review, 2015
Objective The aim of the present study was to assess the effect of an inter-hospital transfer on efficiency and quality of in-patient care. Methods A retrospective cohort study from 2010 to 2012 inclusive was conducted in two tertiary ...

Transfer pricing issues - the arm's length principle

Development Through Research and Innovation IDSC-2025
As the globalization process and international trade has taken off, the number of multinational groups significantly increased. Especially for the past century. In this regard, it is important to address the consequences for the MNEs as well as for national tax authorities.

Word length of pulse transfer function for small sampling periods

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1999
Summary: Discrete-time systems composed of sampler, zero order hold and continuous-time plants are investigated. The well-known Åström's et al. theorem in a reformulated version is first proved and then utilized for estimating the length of a digital word needed for recording the pulse transfer function parameters, in the case of small sampling periods.

Transfer pricing and the Arm's length principle

2008
The Diploma Thesis is devoted to the Transfer pricing problematic, whereby the Transfer Pricing and the Arm's length principle as such are defined, further the Czech and Slovak transfer pricing law is presented and the different transfer pricing together with their possible usage are described.
