An Alternate Method for Computation of Transfer Function Matrix [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, 2010
A direct and simple numerical method is presented for calculating the transfer function matrix of a linear time invariant multivariable system (A, B, C). The method is based on the matrix-determinant identity, and it involves operations with an auxiliary

Transfer-matrix methods meet Ehrhart theory [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 2018
Transfer-Matrix Methods originated in physics where they were used to count the number of allowed particle states on a structure whose width $n$ is a parameter. Typically, the number of states is exponential in $n.$ One more mathematical instance of this methodology is to enumerate the proper vertex colorings of a graph of growing size by a fixed ...

Finite strip-Riccati transfer matrix method for buckling analysis of tree-branched cross-section thin-walled members

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2022
Thin-walled components are gaining wide application in the field of modern engineering structures. The buckling analysis of thin-walled structures has thus become an important research topic.

Transfer matrix method for four-flux radiative transfer

open access: yesApplied Optics, 2017
We develop a transfer matrix formalism for four-flux radiative transfer models, which is ideally suited for studying transport through multiple scattering layers. The model, derived for spherical particles within the diffusion approximation, predicts the specular and diffuse reflection and transmission of multilayer composite films for diffuse or ...

Buckling analysis of thin-walled members via semi-analytical finite strip transfer matrix method

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2016
Slender thin-walled members are main components of modern engineering structures, whose buckling behavior has been studied widely. In this article, thin-walled members with simply supported loaded edges can be discretized in the cross-section by semi ...

The free vibration characteristics of isotropic coupled conical-cylindrical shells based on the precise integration transfer matrix method

open access: yesCurved and Layered Structures, 2017
Based on the transfer matrix theory and precise integration method, the precise integration transfer matrix method (PITMM) is implemented to investigate the free vibration characteristics of isotropic coupled conicalcylindrical shells.

Analysis of the response of a reinforced concrete shear wall structure during earthquakes using the transfer matrix method of multibody systems

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2016
Although reinforced concrete shear wall structures are widely used in high-rise buildings, the methods used to analyze the seismic response of such a structure during an earthquake generally have low calculation efficiencies.

The frontal transfer matrix method. Efficient solution of transfer matrix and reanalysis.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1985
