Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

The Umbral Transfer-Matrix Method. I. Foundations
In this paper the author lays the foundation for the umbral transfer-matrix method based on G. C. Rota's realization of an umbra, merely a linear functional on a vector space of formal power series. It appears to be the first in a series of papers to be written by the author aiming to show how Rota's concept blended with the transfer-matrix method ...

New method for generating linear transfer matrices through combined rf and solenoid fields
We present a new method for computing the transverse transfer matrix for superimposed axisymmetric rf and solenoid field maps. The algorithm constructs the transfer matrix directly from one-dimensional rf and solenoid field maps without computing ...

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Dynamic Analysis of Flexible Rotor Based on Transfer Symplectic Matrix
In view of the numerical instability and low accuracy of the traditional transfer matrix method in solving the high-order critical speed of the rotor system, a new idea of incorporating the finite element method into the transfer matrix is proposed ...

Nonlinear Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Frames by a Combined Method
A more realistic and hence nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete structures is becoming increasingly important. A combination of the displacement method, the transfer matrix method, and a crosssection module is suggested which leads to an effective ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
