Test Problems in Radiative Transfer Calculations [PDF]
Several test problems are presented for evaluating the radiation diffusion equations. For spatial transport schemes, one-dimensional problems with known analytic solutions are tested on two-dimensi...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Evaluation of the normal-lymphocyte-transfer test [PDF]
The normal-lymphocyte-transfer test has been advocated as a method of assessing the immuno-competence of lymphocytes from patients with breast and large-bowel cancer. Evidence is presented in this paper that the methodology is subject to many uncontrollable errors, that the reaction is the result of multiple factors, and that the size of the reaction ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Zoom Auxiliary Imaging Lens Design for a Modulation Transfer Function Test System
In this paper, we propose a zoom auxiliary imaging lens based on the four-component mechanical zoom method for a modulation transfer function (MTF) test system. The auxiliary imaging lenses of the current MTF test system typically use fixed-focus optical

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
