Establishment of A Simple and Efficient Agrobacterium-mediated Genetic Transformation System to Chinese Cabbage (Brassica rapa L. ssp. pekinensis)

open access: yesHorticultural Plant Journal, 2021
Chinese cabbage, belonging to Brassica rapa species, is an important vegetable in Eastern Asia. It is well known that Chinese cabbage is quite recalcitrant to genetic transformation and the transgenic frequency is generally low.

Functional role and folding properties of the glucan‐binding domain of oral bacterial glucansucrase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The role of the glucan‐binding domain in Streptococcus sobrinus glucansucrase was examined, focusing on its impact on enzymatic activity, dextran binding, and structural stability of deletion mutants and a circularly permuted protein. Our research revealed that glucosyl transfer efficiency is linked to cooperative interdomain folding.

Genetic Transformation of Geraniums

open access: yes, 1996
The florist’s geranium (Pelargonium × domesticum) is a favorite house plant, available in many varieties. Other Pelargonium species are commercially important for geranium oil. These plants are known as scented geraniums and the principal ones are: P. graveolens, P. fragrans, P. odoratissimus, P. capitatum, P. quercifolia, P.

Genetic transformation in bacteria

open access: yesJournal of Biosciences, 1984
Certain species of bacteria can become competent to take up high molecular weight DNA from the surrounding medium. DNA homologous to resident chromosomal DNA is transported, processed and recombined with the resident DNA. There are some variations in steps leading to transformation between Gram-positive bacteria likebiplococcus pneumoniae and Gram ...

Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor

Systematic investigation and validation of peanut genetic transformation via the pollen tube injection method

open access: yesPlant Methods
Genetic transformation is a pivotal approach in plant genetic engineering. Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important oil and cash crop, but the stable genetic transformation of peanut is still difficult and inefficient.

MET variants with activating N‐lobe mutations identified in hereditary papillary renal cell carcinomas still require ligand stimulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MET variants in the N‐lobe of the kinase domain, found in hereditary papillary renal cell carcinoma, require ligand stimulation to promote cell transformation, in contrast to other RTK variants. This suggests that HGF expression in the microenvironment is important for tumor growth in such patients. Their sensitivity to MET inhibitors opens the way for

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...
