Nonlinear Pyramid Transforms Based on Median-Interpolation
SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2000Summary: We introduce a nonlinear refinement subdivision scheme based on median-inter-polation. The scheme constructs a polynomial interpolating adjacent block medians of an underlying object. The interpolating polynomial is then used to impute block medians at the next finer triadic scale.

Robust nonlinear wavelet transform based on median-interpolation

No.97CB36136), 2002It is well known that wavelet transforms can be derived from stationary linear refinement subdivision schemes. We discuss a special nonlinear refinement subdivision scheme-median-interpolation. It is a nonlinear cousin of Deslauriers-Dubuc (1992) interpolation and of average-interpolation.
