Numerical Accuracy Improvement by Interprocedural Program Transformation
Floating-point numbers are used to approximate the exact real numbers in a wide range of domains like numerical simulations, embedded software, etc. However, floating-point numbers are a finite approximation of real numbers. In practice, this approximation may introduce round-off errors and this can lead to catastrophic results. To cope with this issue,

The generalized Radon transform: Sampling, accuracy and memory considerations [PDF]
The generalized Radon (or Hough) transform is a well-known tool for detecting parameterized shapes in an image. The Radon transform is a mapping between the image space and a parameter space. The coordinates of a point in the latter correspond to the parameters of a shape in the image.

The asymptotic expansion of a generalisation of the Euler-Jacobi series [PDF]
We consider the asymptotic expansion of the sum Sp(a; w) = ∞Ʃ n=1 e−anp/nw as a → 0 in | arg a| <1/2π for arbitrary finite p > 0 and w > 0. Our attention is concentrated mainly on the case when p and w are both even integers, where the expansion

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

2D Reconstruction of Small Intestine's Interior Wall
Examining and interpreting of a large number of wireless endoscopic images from the gastrointestinal tract is a tiresome task for physicians. A practical solution is to automatically construct a two dimensional representation of the gastrointestinal ...

Nearly cloaking the elastic wave fields [PDF]
In this work, we develop a general mathematical framework on regularized approximate cloaking of elastic waves governed by the Lam\'e system via the approach of transformation elastodynamics. Our study is rather comprehensive. We first provide a rigorous

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...
