Strength of convergence in the orbit space of a transformation group

open access: yes, 2005
Let (G, X) be a second-countable transformation group with G acting freely on X. It is shown that measure-theoretic accumulation of the action and topological strength of convergence in the orbit space X/G provide equivalent ways of quantifying the ...

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Notes on the commutator group of the group of interval exchange transformations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
We study the group of interval exchange transformations and obtain several characterizations of its commutator group. In particular, it turns out that the commutator group is generated by elements of order 2.

On the homotopy invariance of L^2 torsion for covering spaces

open access: yes, 1997
We prove the homotopy invariance of L^2 torsion for covering spaces, whenever the covering transformation group is either residually finite or amenable.

Relations between Non-Compact Transformation Groups and Compact Transformation Groups [PDF]

open access: yesNagoya Mathematical Journal, 1971
In this paper certain relations between non-compact transformation groups and compact transformation groups are studied. The notion of re-ducibility and separability of transformation groups is introduced, several necessary and sufficient conditions are established: (1) A separable transformation group to be locally weakly almost periodic, (2) A ...

Unlocking the potential of tumor‐derived DNA in urine for cancer detection: methodological challenges and opportunities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...

A rural community moves closer to sustainable obesity prevention - an exploration of community readiness pre and post a community-based participatory intervention

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2019
Background Understanding levels of community readiness can result in prevention efforts that align with communities’ ability and capacity for change and, therefore, be more effective and sustainable.

Qualitative uncertainty principle for Gabor transform on certain locally compact groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Classes of locally compact groups having qualitative uncertainty principle for Gabor transform have been investigated. These include Moore groups, Heisenberg Group $\mathbb{H}_n, \mathbb{H}_{n} \times D,$ where $D$ is discrete group and other low dimensional nilpotent Lie groups.

Properties of renormalization group transformations [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1998
We describe some properties of Renormalization Group transformations. Especially we show why some of the RG transformations have redundant eigenoperators with eigenvalues that cannot be determined by simple dimensional analysis and give the corresponding formulae.

Subpar reporting of pre‐analytical variables in RNA‐focused blood plasma studies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical variables strongly influence the analysis of extracellular RNA (cell‐free RNA; exRNA) derived from blood plasma. Their reporting is essential to allow interpretation and replication of results. By evaluating 200 exRNA studies, we pinpoint a lack of reporting pre‐analytical variables associated with blood collection, plasma preparation ...
