Iron-Modified Biochar/TiO₂ Advanced Oxidation Process for Enhanced Degradation of Norfloxacin and Estradiol in Water: Efficiency Optimization and Ecotoxicity Evolution of Transformation Products [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering
This study aims to construct an advanced oxidation system using photocatalytically modified biochar to remove pharmaceutical residues (norfloxacin and estradiol) from water and evaluate the ecotoxicity of their degradation products.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Binomial transform of products

open access: yes, 2017
Given two infinite sequences with known binomial transforms, we compute the binomial transform of the product sequence. Various identities are obtained and numerous examples are given involving sequences of special numbers: Harmonic numbers, Bernoulli numbers, Fibonacci numbers, and also Laguerre polynomials.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Genomic, Transcriptomic and Suspect/Non‐Target Screening Analyses Reveal the Role of CYP450s in the Degradation of Imazalil and Delineate Its Transformation Pathway by Cladosporium herbarum

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology
Imazalil (IMZ), a major surface water contaminant characterised by high environmental recalcitrance and toxicity, is used in fruit‐packaging plants to control fungal infestations during storage. This leads to the production of wastewaters which should be
