Skew Pairs of Idempotents in Partial Transformation Semigroups

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Let S be a regular semigroup. A pair (e,f) of idempotents of S is said to be a skew pair of idempotents if fe is idempotent, but ef is not. T. S. Blyth and M. H. Almeida (T. S. Blyth and M. H.

Thickness in topological transformation semigroups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1993
This article deals with thickness in topological transformation semigroups (τ-semigroups). Thickness is used to establish conditions guaranteeing an invariant mean on a function space defined on a τ-semigroup if there exists an invariant mean on its ...

On the Transformation Semigroups of Finite Automata

open access: yesJournal of Computer and System Sciences, 1983
AbstractNecessary and sufficient conditions for a given automaton to be of left identity type, of identity type, of right group type, of group type quasi state independent, and state independent are presented. The time required to decide whether or not each condition holds for a given automaton is also estimated under the uniform cost criterion.

Structure of the (Total) Transformation Monoids Under Rank N Generators [version 1; peer review: 2 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research
Throughout this paper our study focuses on transformation semigroups. These kinds of semigroups are the corner stone of semigroup theory. This is because every semigroup is isomorphic to transformation semigroup.

Transformation semigroups associated to Γ-semigroups

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications, 2013
The concept of Γ-semigroups is a generalization of semigroups. In this paper, we associate two transformation semigroups to a Γ-semigroup and we call them the left and right transformation semigroups. We prove some relationships between the ideals of a Γ-semigroup and the ideals of its left and right transformation semigroups.

On the maximum transform and semigroups of transformations [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the American Mathematical Society, 1962
Abstract : Part of the Project RAND research program consists of basic supporting studies in mathematics. A problem frequently occurring in applications is that of determining the maximum or minimum value of a function subject to prescribed constraints.

Characterization of quasi idempotent in semigroups of full contraction mappings

open access: yesProceedings of the Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences
Let Tn be the semigroup of full transformation of a finite set and let Xn = {1, 2, · · · , n}. A transformation α : Domα ⊂ Xn →Im(α) ⊂ Xn is said to be full or total transformation if Domα = Xn.
