SQ-LoRA: Memory-Efficient Language Model Compression Through Stable-Rank-Guided Quantization for Edge Computing Applications

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The deployment of transformer-based language models on resource-constrained edge devices presents fundamental challenges in computational efficiency and memory utilization. We introduce SQ-LoRA (Stable-rank Quantized Low-Rank Adaptation), a theoretically

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Localized Query Attack Toward Transformer-Based Visible Object Detectors

open access: yesSensors
Transformer-based detectors have demonstrated exceptional accuracy in visible-object detection tasks. However, adversarial patches, specific types of adversarial examples, can disrupt these detectors by introducing unrestricted perturbations into ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Temporal Windowed and Internal Feature (TWIF) Transformer for Attack Detection in Robotics

open access: yesIEEE Access
Ensuring cybersecurity in robotic systems is critically important, as successful attacks can not only disrupt operations but also cause significant physical damage and safety risks, distinguishing robotics from traditional Information Technology ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Model-Driven Development of Model Transformations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis presents how evolving software models expressed in different formalisms can be kept consistent by means of an object-oriented integration of metamodeling, design by contract and graph transformation. It incrementally builds upon existing modeling languages to illustrate that the adoption of the new model-driven engineering paradigm does not

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...
