Modeling of the Partial Discharge Process in a Liquid Dielectric: Effect of Applied Voltage, Gap Distance, and Electrode Type

open access: yes, 2013
The partial discharge (PD) process in liquid dielectrics is influenced by several factors. Although the PD current contains the information representing the discharge process during the PD event, it is difficult to determine the detailed dynamics of what

Mechanochromism of Glassy Polymers Enabled by a Loop‐Forming Supramolecular Mechanophore

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The supramolecular mechanophore LOOP is covalently introduced into glassy polymers, capable of reporting force‐induced pre‐failure damage and local fracture events in polymer glasses. Under different mechanical deformation modes, including grinding, tensile stretching, and scratching, LOOP probes irreversible events in polymer glasses through a ...

Parallel 3D Bioprinting on SLIPS‐Microarrays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces the first truly parallel 3D bioprinting method, enabling both the simultaneous fabrication of hundreds of cell laden hydrogel 3D structures and their HTS in individual liquid compartments. By integrating Digital Light Processing (DLP) stereolithography with functional micropatterns, the platform decouples printing time from array ...

Disordered Carbon Shells Enable Shape Dependent Fluorescence Enhancement in Nanodiamond Quantum Sensors Revealed by Correlative TEM–Fluorescence Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molten KNO2 treatment induces a lowrefractive index disordered carbon shell on fluorescent nanodiamonds, enhancing fluorescence emission while preserving spin coherence. Machine learningassisted correlative TEMPL enables direct single‐particle resolution of this enhancement relative to air‐oxidized nanodiamonds of similar morphology, establishing a ...

Enhanced Transformer Overcurrent Protection via Oil Temperature Acceleration

open access: yesEnergies
When a transformer is in a long-term heavy load operation state, the oil temperature reaches the alarm temperature; if a slight fault occurs inside the transformer, traditional inverse time current protection and other protections that react to phase ...

Space charge inhibition effect of nano-Fe3O4 on improvement of impulse breakdown voltage of transformer oil based on improved Kerr optic measurements

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
Transformer oil-based nanofluids (NFs) with 0.03 g/L Fe3O4 nanoparticle content exhibit 11.2% higher positive impulse breakdown voltage levels than pure transformer oils.

DNA‐Origami‐Assembled Rhodium Nanoantennas for Deep‐UV Label‐Free Single‐Protein Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Deep‐UV autofluorescence of single proteins in DNA origami‐based rhodium nanoantennas. Precisely positioned within the plasmonic nanogap, proteins retain their native state while their intrinsic emission is strongly amplified, enabling label‐free single‐molecule detection and opening new opportunities for highly sensitive and specific biosensing ...

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Research on the variation of dielectric properties of oil‐paper insulation for power equipment over a wide temperature range

open access: yesHigh Voltage
The main part of oil‐immersed power equipment is oil‐paper insulation. At lower ambient temperatures, transformer oil will become viscous. As a result, compared to those at room temperature or operating temperature, the frequency domain dielectric ...
