Protecting wavelet lifting transforms

10th IEEE Pacific Rim International Symposium on Dependable Computing, 2004. Proceedings., 2004
Wavelet transforms are the central to many applications in image processing and data compression. They have banks of multirate filters that are difficult to protect from computer-induced numerical errors. An efficient algorithm-based fault tolerance approach is proposed for detecting arithmetic errors in the output data.

Improving Transformer Protection

2019 72nd Conference for Protective Relay Engineers (CPRE), 2019
Power transformers play a critical role in the power system. These transformers are subject to internal short circuits, external short circuits and abnormal operating conditions. Several protection challenges to power transformers will be explored, and methods to improve the protection provided.

Protection of VSD transformers

2017 Petroleum and Chemical Industry Conference Europe (PCIC Europe), 2017
Variable Speed Drives (VSD) protect themselves as well as the driven motors. In contrast, the isolation input transformer typically requires its dedicated protection. Unlike distribution and power transformers, the protection of VSD duty transformers need to consider several additional aspects, such as non-sinusoidal current with harmonic content ...

Rectifier relay for transformer protection

Electrical Engineering, 1945
THE BASIC PRINCIPLE of differential protection of electric equipment consists of measuring the sum of the currents at the various terminals of the generator, transformer, or bus. If the vector sum of these currents is substantially zero, there is no fault; if the vector sum is not zero, a fault condition is indicated.

Relay protection of transformers

Electrical Engineering, 1947
To develop certain criteria of adequate protection, discover inherent limitations, and to recommend desirable devices and methods for protection of power transformers, the AIEE relay subcommittee conducted a survey of over 56,000,000 kva of power transformers. The final report is the result of almost three years of investigation by the working group.

Transforming Protection

Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP) is practised globally by civilians protecting fellow civilians without the use of weapons. This book argues that while UCP is useful and transformative in its own right, its principles and values mean it has the potential to transform our responses in a range of social contexts where there is violence.

Lightning Protection of Distribution Transformers

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1935
Data on the results of lightning protection for distribution transformers on the system of the Georgia Power Company have been compiled, to determine the improvement resulting from changes which have been made, particularly the interconnection of the ground leads of the primary arrester with the transformer secondary neutral.

Transformer protection using the wavelet transform

2020
This paper introduces a novel approach for power transformer protection algorithm. Power system signals such as current and voltage have traditionally been analysed by the Fast Fourier Transform. This paper aims to prove that the Wavelet Transform is a reliable and computationally efficient tool for distinguishing between the inrush currents and fault ...
