Prenatal Brain Abnormalities in Sodium‐Dependent Multivitamin Transporter Deficiency

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In treatable neurometabolic disorders, early diagnosis and prompt initiation of treatment are key to improved survival and outcomes. Biallelic variants in SLC5A6 cause sodium‐dependent multivitamin transporter deficiency (OMIM # 618973), which is treatable with high‐dose pantothenic acid, biotin, and alpha lipoic acid.

Immunoengineering of a Photocaged 5´‐triphosphate Oligoribonucleotide Ligand for Spatiotemporal Control of RIG‐I Activation in Cancer

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
This study presents a method for precise control of RIG‐I (retinoic acid inducible gene I), an innate immune receptor of RNA that, when activated, induces anti‐tumor immune responses and cancer cell death. By incorporating photocage modifications into RNA ligands, we enable a spatially and temporally regulated immune response and offer a targeted ...

A Multimodal Pipeline for Clinical Data Extraction: Applying Vision-Language Models to Scans of Transfusion Reaction Reports [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Despite the growing adoption of electronic health records, many processes still rely on paper documents, reflecting the heterogeneous real-world conditions in which healthcare is delivered. The manual transcription process is time-consuming and prone to errors when transferring paper-based data to digital formats.
