This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Femtosecond transient absorption measurements in poly(arylenevinylene)s
We compare and contrast the results of transient absorption measurements on three members of the poly(arylenevinylene) family: poly(p-phenylenevinylene), PPV; poly(2,5-dimethoxy-p-phenylene vinylene), PDMeOPV; and poly(2,5-thienylenevinylene), PTV.

5‐Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferric ammonium citrate (5‐ALA/FAC) stimulates dermal papilla cell activity and promotes hair follicle growth. The treatment enhances ERK and AKT signaling, increases hair‐inductive gene expression, and restores dermal papilla function suppressed by dihydrotestosterone and oxidative stress, resulting in enhanced hair

Torsional Disorder in Tetraphenyl [3]-Cumulenes: Insight into Excited State Quenching
Cumulenes are linear molecules consisting of consecutive double bonds linking chains of sp-hybridized carbon atoms. They have primarily been of interest for potential use as molecular wires or in other nanoscale electronic devices, but more recently ...

Symmetry of molecular Rydberg states revealed by XUV transient absorption spectroscopy
Transient absorption spectroscopy is used to identify the structural characteristics of the atoms and molecules. Here the authors used extreme ultraviolet transient absorption spectroscopy to identify the Rydberg state symmetry of aligned molecules.

Transient-absorption phases with strong probe and pump pulses [PDF]
The quantum dynamics of a system of Rb atoms, modeled by a V-type three-level system interacting with intense probe and pump pulses, are studied. The time-delay-dependent transient-absorption spectrum of an intense probe pulse is thus predicted, when ...

The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

Ultrafast charge carrier dynamics of green‐light emitting InP/ZnSe/ZnS core–shell quantum dots (QDs) with three different ZnSe thickness of 2.0 nm (gQD‐20), 2.4 nm (gQD‐24), or 3.3 nm (gQD‐33) are interrogated by femtosecond transient absorption (TA) and
